Terms of Service

The short version

The extension is free and works on its own. Data Privacy Agent Pro is a paid subscription that prepares privacy requests — data-deletion and opt-out requests to the companies the extension detects — and tracks what you’ve sent. You send the requests. We are not a law firm, we don’t give legal advice, and we can’t promise that a company will comply. Pro renews monthly until you cancel, you can cancel online at any time, and your first month is refundable on request within 14 days.

1. Who we are

Data Privacy Agent (“we”, “us”) provides the Data Privacy Agent browser extension, the companion apps, the website at dataprivacyagent.io, and the Pro subscription (together, the “Service”). Contact us at privacyagentpro@gmail.com.

2. What the Service does — and doesn’t

Free extension. Rejects cookie-consent banners, reclaims a free “reject” option where a site hides one, flags “pay or consent” walls, sends the Global Privacy Control signal, and shows you which companies are tracking you on a page. It runs locally in your browser.

Pro. Takes the companies the extension has detected for you and prepares the applicable privacy request for each — for example a CCPA or state-law deletion or opt-out request, a request through California’s Delete Request and Opt-out Platform (DROP), or a templated email — using the details you provide. It keeps a record of what you sent and reminds you when it may be time to send again.

You are the sender. Pro drafts requests in your name; you review them and send them yourself (for example by pressing Send in your email client, or by submitting in DROP after you have verified your residency with the State of California). Where a rights process allows an authorized agent to assist, we may assist you with the submission; we do not submit requests without your action.

No outcome is promised. Whether, when and how a company responds to a request is that company’s decision under the law that applies to it. Companies may ignore requests, ask you to verify your identity, respond late, or re-add your data later. Pro helps you exercise your rights; it does not guarantee deletion, opt-out, or any particular result.

Not legal advice. Request templates, notices in the extension (such as the “pay or consent” flag) and any information about your rights are general information, not legal advice, and may not reflect the law in your jurisdiction or the latest changes to it. For advice about your situation, consult a lawyer.

3. Who can use Pro

You must be at least 18 years old. The US plan is intended for residents of the United States; some request types depend on the state you live in (for example, DROP is available to California residents). Plans for other regions are offered only where the Service says they are available.

4. Your account

The extension uses an anonymous install identifier — no account or login. When you subscribe, our payment provider (Stripe) collects your email address and payment details for receipts and billing; we link the subscription to your install identifier. To use Pro’s request features you provide the details a request needs (such as your name, contact email and state of residence). You are responsible for keeping those details accurate: requests are prepared with what you enter.

5. Subscription, renewal, cancellation and refunds

Price and term. Pro is billed as a recurring monthly subscription at the price shown on the checkout page (for the US plan, $7 per month), plus any applicable taxes.

Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically each month, and your payment method is charged the then-current monthly price at the start of each billing period, until you cancel. We will tell you at least 30 days in advance of any price increase, and you can cancel before it takes effect.

How to cancel. Cancel at any time, online, in one place: open the extension’s settings and choose Manage subscription, or visit dataprivacyagent.io/account, which opens the billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you have already paid for; you keep Pro until then and are not charged again. You can also email us at privacyagentpro@gmail.com and we will cancel for you.

Refunds. If Pro isn’t what you expected, email us within 14 days of your first charge and we will refund it in full. Renewal charges are not refunded except where the law requires it; cancel before the renewal date to avoid them. Nothing here limits any statutory rights you have where you live.

Confirmation. After you subscribe you receive a receipt from our payment provider that repeats these renewal and cancellation terms.

6. Your responsibilities

Use the Service only for yourself (or someone who has authorized you), give accurate information, review a request before you send it, and don’t use the Service to harass a company, to make requests you know to be false, or in any way that breaks the law. Don’t attempt to interfere with the Service or to circumvent its paid features.

7. Your data

How we handle data — including the personal details you provide for Pro requests, which we store only to prepare and track those requests and delete on your request — is described in the Privacy Policy. We never sell data.

8. Changes to the Service

Websites, consent tools and privacy laws change constantly; coverage of a given site, company or request type can change or stop working, and we may add, change or remove features. We’ll be honest about what the Service can and can’t do at any given time.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that any request will be honored or that any banner, tracker or wall will be handled. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for Pro in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages. Some jurisdictions don’t allow some of these limits, so some may not apply to you.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; we’ll change the “last updated” date above and, for material changes affecting Pro, tell subscribers by email before they take effect. Continued use after a change means you accept it.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the consumer-protection law of the place you live gives you rights that can’t be waived — those still apply.
